The ground shakes a little when Bonk arrives. Not because he means it to — he’s always trying to be gentle, always moving a little more carefully than his size requires. It just doesn’t always go to plan.

He is enormous and woolly and Scottish and he will cheer for you so loudly that the grass shakes. He trains younger monsters not to be perfect, but to feel at home in their own bodies. To fall down, get back up, dust off their hands, and try again — because to Bonk, showing up is already the bravest part.

If something breaks, he fixes it. If someone stumbles, he’s already beside them. And when you finally get it — whatever it is — no one in any world will celebrate louder.
