What this game helps with
Therapy goals: visual perception and discrimination (matching by monster, color, and shape), visual memory and working memory, sustained attention and concentration, and cognitive flexibility — the matching rule changes each round, so the player has to notice and switch strategies. It also builds categorization and turn-by-turn planning. Tips: read the new rule aloud at the start of each round and name the attribute you're matching ("we're matching by color now"). Begin with the same-monster rounds and work up to the color-and-shape rounds as matching gets easier.
