What this game helps with
Therapy goals: Sequential processing, multi-step direction following, working memory, categorization, and following procedural text.
Chef Melo's speech bubble shows each recipe step in writing — one step at a time, revealed only after the last one is done. There is no spoken narration, so a grown-up reads the step aloud for a child who is not reading yet. The child finds the right ingredient on the kitchen island, adds the right amount, and watches it fly into the mixing bowl. Wrong picks earn a gentle "Oops — let's try that again!" and the visual checklist ticks off each completed step. Finishing a recipe reveals the Cuddle Monster dish with its official silly name, and every dish has a real printable recipe.
Easy: 2-step recipes with big picture clues. Medium: 4-step recipes, amounts up to 3, small faded clues. Hard: 6-step recipes where quantity and order matter — words only, no pictures!
Help the game gives: the game counts each amount and moves to the next step by itself once the right number is added, so the child does not have to decide when to stop. The end screen shows the steps and picks each visit required, the number of oopsies, and the help that was on.
