What this game helps with
Therapy goals: Perspective-taking, emotional reasoning, empathy, identifying what causes feelings, and self-awareness.
Each case is a short story about a Cuddle Monster. The child plays detective: What is the character feeling? Why? What might they do next? The Hint button reveals a key clue in the story. The level sets how the child answers; the case files set what the stories are about, and the two can be combined in any way. The Loss & big changes files explore loss, change and grief in an age-appropriate way for older children — a grown-up may want to choose that set together with the child. Each set holds 40 cases in rotating groups of 10, so nothing repeats until the fifth play of that set.
Easy: name the feeling, 3 choices. Medium: feeling + its cause, 4 choices each. Hard: feeling, cause, and what might happen next, written in the child's own words with sentence starters.
Any case can be skipped; skipped cases are counted separately, not as wrong. Answers that used the Hint are counted separately from answers given without it. At the end of a round, every answer written or chosen in that round can be reviewed on screen; nothing is sent anywhere and the notes are cleared when a new round starts.
Clinician note: open-ended answers on Hard are never auto-graded — they're prompts for discussion. Detective Lala shares her own thinking afterward to compare notes; her "what might happen next" ideas are possibilities to talk about, not predictions.
These answers are kept only on this screen until a new round starts. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere. Copying puts the text on this device's clipboard; printing uses this device's print dialog.
